Diana Garside, Ph.D., Certified Animal Massage Practitioner
Diana Garside is a forensic toxicologist of 16 years and recently decided to change career paths for one where she could focus on her love of animals. Diana successfully completed a 200-hour certification program in Small Animal Massage at the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, Worcester, MA (www.bancroftsmt.com) and graduated in November 2008. While Diana continues as a private consultant in forensic toxicology, she is now a Certified Animal Massage Practitioner. Diana created Healthy Paws, LLC to enhance the lives of animals through the practice of animal massage.
In addition to learning massage techniques, including passive movements, Diana also studied small animal anatomy, animal behavior, handling, health, and bio-security, species and breeds, structural assessment and biomechanics, animal CPR and first aid, and she completed an internship. Diana is a Member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
Diana and her husband, River, are allowed to share their home near Pittsboro, NC with their kitties, Candy, Pudding, and Cosette, and their garden with a menagerie of outdoor visitors including kitties Gracie, Blackie, Marshmallow, Houdini, Stanley, Bear, and Dusty. |
